Jamie says: All four of us have been so excited for the first day of school. We've exhausted quite a few touristy activities, been in the pool almost every day, and explored the nearby playgrounds. The girls needed something structured, and their parents needed a break.
Earlier today, Jonathan posted a video of us walking to school. Here are the girls in front of the entrance with their cute uniforms (in Dava's case, a pinafore).
Charlie basically ran into the school and didn't look back.
I was holding my breath most of the day. Thinking about the worst case scenario for Charlie. The school day is 9-5, two hours longer than what she's used to. And all in another language! I was imagining her withdrawing in the face of not knowing what anyone was saying. But I should have known better. When I came to pick her up, I knew right away she was good. I asked her how her day was and she said "Awesome!" Her teacher said she did great "and she even helped me with my English". Leave it to Charlie.
...Oh yes. And she was invited to her first BA birthday party. Tomorrow.
Here's a snippet video of Charlie explaining her day- https://youtu.be/f2CJUbKXFEQ
For the record: I didn't need a break.
ReplyDeletelove how the BA school uniform makes her look like a soccer pro.... fantastic. i wish all my friends had blogs. it's like facebook where you actually are interested in everything.
ReplyDeleteI love their uniforms so much
ReplyDeleteI told Addie about the 9 - 5, all-Spanish day and her comment is, "Not to be rude, but I wouldn't want to go to a school like that." Whatevs. Sounds like you found a great place for the both of them. xo
ReplyDeleteI'm with Addie, but for Charlie it's perfect.
DeletePerfect first day! Goooo Charlie!
